Double Dutch pro team weekend!

Afgelopen week-einde weer op de vrijdag in Amsterdam beland en goed begonnen in de Winston en uiteindelijk eindigde op de oranje bank van Oran.

's Ochtends brak de deur uit en wakker worden bij Iwan @Rodolfo's met een lekker erwten soepje en stokbroodje. Na het afwachten van Daniel zijn Antilliaanse tijden gingen we door naar Belgie - Kortrijk voor de FOOLJAM! Alles lekker rustig totdat we in een file terecht kwamen van 2.5/3 uur! Lekker dan! Haha. tijdens de file maar snoep gepikt van kinderen uit andermans auto en nog even gerold op de E17 snelweg. Na deze fijne file reden we door en kwamen uiteindelijk een mooie vijf uur te laat aan op de content... Nog beter! De laatste groep was al aan het rijden. Dit weerhield ons niet en sprongen snel in de pads en reden 1 minuut warm en deden onze rondes in de regen. Zo flikker ik over een bar-end heen die in de bowl ligt en Daniel die zijn lever afbreekt. Geen stress! Daniel pakt een andere fiets (Arturs le Franceboy bike) en ik het met kromme vingertje weer door. Daniel doet even rustig een 360 whip to FJ op andermans fiets en roept nog even tevreden "OUWEEEE" en zelf nog 2 flairwhips gedaan.

Dit uurtje Belgie bleek ons uiteindelijk goed te doen, aangezien we samen met 400 euro in totaal Belgie weer verlieten! (Sig: 1ste, ik 2de en Daniel 3de). En Sig gaat te hoog in die bowl (moest even gemeld worden).

Onderweg terug naar huis nog even langs de McD waar je pinas werkt na 100 keer doorhalen en weer verder door naar Amsterdam voor wat wilde dansmoves in de Paradiso en Melkweg.

Was een mooi week-einde!

Some anonymous person posted this link in the comments of the announcement of the Dirt Jam taking place in Velsen/Spaarnewoude this weekend. Apparently they are testing (which is synonymous to committing suicide nowadays) the big jump which you can see in the clip below... Holy cow!

No idea how we've missed this till now... Anyhow, in three days, saturday 29th of May, the Fooljam will be held at the pools in Kortrijk, Belgium. Warming up starts at about one 'o clock, amateur contest is scheduled at 14.30 and the pro contest at 16.30. Dutch confirmed riders thus far are Nicky van der Veen and Daniel Wedemeijer, both participating in the Pro Contest. According to the website fooljam.be it's still possible to sign up for the contest! A little teaser to get you stoked is provided by the fooljam organisation:

Sunday, 30th of May, a sweet dirt jumping session is gonna go down at Velsen (close to Haarlem and not too far from Amsterdam either). The dirts will be opened from 11.00 to 17.00. Basically it's going to be a chill jumping session all day, with a small contest in jam format at the end of the day, with price money!

The jumps are big, as can be seen on the photos below, and will be there for a couple of days only. So grab your chance and get your ass down to Velsen this sunday!

Exact location: Heuvelweg 6-8, 1981 LV Velsen-Zuid. Go get your route through 9292ov or google maps!

Contest 'Mind The Gap'!

Seemingly this is our own European version of the Megaramp. Nineteenth of June a contest will be held at Landgraaf, at exactly the same fields 60.000 people are going to enjoy the Pinkpopfestival coming weekend. The Mind the Gap contest is part of the bigger festival 'Break Fest'. The flyer says 'Location: Strassbourg (FR)', but I suppose that's just referring to the place the photograph was taken. Last, but not least; 400 Euro price money!

De 19e juni is er de Mind The Gap Contest in Landgraaf, onderdeel van het 'Break Fest'-festival. Het is op het terrein van het pinkpopfestival en er is maar liefst 400 euro aan prijzengeld beschikbaar!

Syo's Tilt Shift Shots!

We weren't there, but the street session in Utrecht yesterday was probably a very good one. Syo van Vliet took some shots with a tilt-shift lens, creating the look of miniature riders riding in a miniature world. Riders are Tim Frijters with a wallride and hang nothing, Maityn Pedroso with a tuck no Hands and Boy Jansen with a footjam whip. Stoked on these!

On behalf of newbreeders.com, Roy is checking out some 'relatively unknown' (his words!) cities in the Netherlands, riding with the locals and adding spots to the map. Today, Nijmegen was the city of choice. Aaron Zwaal joined the session and snapped some shots over the course of the day.

By the way, we really love Roy van Kempen, but it would definitely be sweet to have some material of other renowned Dutch riders. So where you at? Before 031bmx.nl is going to turn into Roy's personal blog...;-)

Voor newbreeders.com is Roy wat relatief onbekende steden(zijn woorden!) steden in Nederland aan het bezoeken om hier te rijden met de locals en spots toe te voegen aan de kaart. Aaron Zwaal sessie'de mee vandaag en heeft wat plaatjes geschoten.

Trouwens, we vinden Roy van Kempen superlief enzo, maar het zou ook erg leuk zijn als we eens wat materiaal van andere voorname Nederlandse rijders kunnen showen. Dus...kom maar op! Voordat deze plek in Roy's persoonlijke blog veranderd...;-)

It took longer for this video to pop up online than expected, leading to use believing Roy and Tom had actually never been to New York and the diaries were just all made up...kidding. Tom really outdid himself on this video / edit. Definitely a must watch! Also it got stickied on thecomeupbmx.net, meaning it made an impression on Adam Grandmaison. Good stuff guys!

Het duurde wat langer dan verwacht voor deze video eindelijk online kwam. We geloofden al bijna dat Roy en Tom nooit in New York waren geweest en hun dagboek gewoon verzonnen was...geintje. Tom heeft zichzelf zeker overtroffen met deze video en edit. Bovendien is de video op thecomeupbmx.net gestickied, en dat zegt wel wat! Goed werk gasten!

Not quite 031, but hey, close enough, same language, let's be friendly! The guy at intelbmx organised a street jam in the beautiful city of Gent about a week ago...See the video. The ending made me laugh (hint: nude girl, photoshoot, bunnyhop)!
